The short version
What is the difference between Recast and Designjoy?
The difference is how many things move at once, and who moves them. Designjoy's site describes a one-person agency: its founder, Brett, takes every request himself, one at a time. Recast is a studio team in Amman that works five of your tasks in parallel, with one lead designer as your point of contact.
The two have a lot in common. Both are flat monthly subscriptions with a queue. Both let you pause and keep the unused days. Both quote about 48 hours. The detail is where they part: Designjoy's site says most requests are completed in two business days or less, while Recast's 48 hours are real hours, because the team works every day of the week.
Scope differs too. Designjoy's site lists a wide range of design work, from logos, slide decks and ad creative to UI/UX design, mobile apps and Webflow development. Recast is a product design studio: screens and flows, design systems, websites, the front-end build, and Arabic versions designed right-to-left.

The honest part
When is Designjoy the better choice?
Designjoy is the better choice when you want one particular designer, its founder, to make everything himself, and when one request at a time is all you need.
You want the founder's own hand
Designjoy's site says you work directly with Brett for the whole engagement. If his portfolio is the reason you are looking, a team is not a substitute for that.
Your queue is brand and marketing work
Its site lists logos, slide decks, ad creative, social media and print among its services. Recast's plan is built around product screens, design systems and websites.
One thing at a time suits you
A founder who briefs one request, reviews it, then briefs the next is not held up by a single lane. Parallel capacity is not what you would be choosing on.
You work on US hours, through Trello
Designjoy is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, and takes requests on a Trello board. Recast works from Amman, seven to eight hours ahead of New York.
The other side
When is Recast the better choice?
Recast is the better choice when more than one thing has to move in the same week, when the work is a product and not a set of separate graphics, or when you need it built or in Arabic.
Several tasks in one week
Five tasks are worked at once. An onboarding flow, a settings page and a pricing page move together instead of waiting on each other.
A product, with its system
Developer-ready Figma with components, tokens and spec frames, a design system that is maintained, and usability testing with five users on request.
A build beyond Webflow
Front-end build hours cover React and Next.js as well as Webflow and Framer, by the team that designed the screens.
Arabic beside English
The Arabic version is designed natively, right-to-left, on the same flow as the English.
The weekend counts
A task filed on Friday is worked on Friday. The 48 hours do not stop for Saturday and Sunday.
The numbers
What does each cost over three and twelve months?
Over three months Recast costs $11,700 and Designjoy $14,985. Over twelve months, $46,800 and $59,940. The gap is $1,095 a month at the prices on both sites today.
Both are flat fees, so the sums are short. $3,900 × 3 = $11,700 and $4,995 × 3 = $14,985. $3,900 × 12 = $46,800 and $4,995 × 12 = $59,940. A year's difference is $13,140.
Neither total means much without throughput. With one request at a time, a month holds as many requests as fit end to end. With five in parallel, the same month holds five lanes of them. Both services keep your unused days when you pause, so a quiet month need not be wasted on either.
The cost of finding out differs. Designjoy returns 75% if you stop within the first week, which on $4,995 leaves $1,248.75 paid. Recast refunds the month in full within 14 days, or you can run the $490 pilot first.

Questions
Asked before the call.
Is Recast cheaper than Designjoy?
- At the prices on both sites on 12 October 2026, yes: $3,900 a month against $4,995, a difference of $1,095 a month. Designjoy's site shows $4,995 beside a struck-through $5,995, so check the current figure before you decide.
Does Designjoy work on more than one request at a time?
- Its site says one request at a time: you can add as many requests to your queue as you like, and they are delivered one by one. Recast works five at once and queues the rest in the order you set.
Who actually does the design at Designjoy and at Recast?
- Designjoy's site says it is a one-person agency run by its founder, Brett, and that it does not employ other designers or outsource. Recast is a studio team in Amman led by Daniel Makhamreh. One lead designer is your point of contact, on every call, and accountable for every design choice.
Can I move from Designjoy to Recast without starting again?
- Yes. Designjoy's site says most requests are designed in Figma, and Recast delivers in Figma too, so the files you already own are the starting point. Attach them to your first task.
Do Designjoy and Recast both build in Webflow?
- Both do. Designjoy's site says Webflow development is included with its subscription and treated as a design request. Recast's plan includes front-end build hours in Webflow, Framer, React or Next.js.
Does Designjoy design in Arabic?
- Its site does not mention Arabic or right-to-left design, so ask them directly. Recast designs English and Arabic natively on the same flow, and it is included in the plan.
What if I only need design for one month?
- Either works for a single month. Designjoy's site says you can subscribe for a month and pause with your unused days kept. Recast is billed monthly with no notice period, and the $490 pilot covers a single week if a month is more than you need.
