The short version

What is the difference between Recast and ManyPixels?

ManyPixels is a graphic design service and Recast is a product design studio; the two overlap only at the visual design of a page. ManyPixels' site covers graphic design, web design, illustration, motion graphics and video editing. Its scope page lists websites, landing pages, UI design and SaaS dashboards among the things it does.

The same page has a list headed "We don't do". It includes prototypes, UX design, Webflow, Framer, WordPress and coding in HTML, CSS or JavaScript. Those are the centre of Recast's plan: flows and prototypes, usability testing on request, a maintained design system, and front-end build hours in React, Next.js, Webflow or Framer.

So the question is less which is better value than which one does the job. For a set of social graphics or a brochure, ManyPixels is priced for it. For a product flow that needs a prototype and a build, its scope page lists that work as outside the service.

The honest part

When is ManyPixels the better choice?

ManyPixels is the better choice when the work is graphic design, when the budget is under $3,000 a month, or when you want a designer online during your own office hours.

  • Graphics, illustration, video editing

Logos, brochures, social graphics, custom illustrations, motion graphics and video editing are in its scope. Recast's plan is built around product screens, design systems and websites.

  • A smaller budget

Advanced is $699 a month. Its largest plan, Design Team at $2,599, is still $1,301 a month less than Recast.

  • A designer on your clock

The designer plans assign a part-time designer in US Eastern, European or Indochina time, on Slack or Google Chat from 9AM to 6PM. Recast works from Amman, UTC+3.

  • The look, with the flows already decided

If the structure is settled and you need pages and dashboards made to look right, UI design is on its scope list.

The other side

When is Recast the better choice?

Recast is the better choice whenever the request includes how the product works and not only how it looks, and whenever it has to be built.

  • UX, flows and prototypes

The work ManyPixels lists as out of scope is the core of the plan: flows, states, prototypes, and usability testing with five users on request.

  • It needs building

Front-end build hours in React, Next.js, Webflow or Framer are included, by the team that designed the screens.

  • A design system that is kept up

Components and tokens in developer-ready Figma, with spec frames, maintained as the product changes.

  • Saturday and Sunday

ManyPixels' designer plans run Monday to Friday. Recast works every day, and its 48 hours are real hours.

  • A refund if it does not fit

Recast refunds the month in full within 14 days. ManyPixels' terms say subscription fees are non-refundable.

The numbers

What does each cost over three and twelve months?

ManyPixels costs less on every plan. Over twelve months on monthly billing its four plans come to $8,388, $14,388, $16,788 and $31,188. Recast comes to $46,800.

The sums: $699 × 12 = $8,388. $1,199 × 12 = $14,388. $1,399 × 12 = $16,788. $2,599 × 12 = $31,188. $3,900 × 12 = $46,800. ManyPixels lists lower monthly prices for quarterly and yearly billing, so a longer commitment widens the gap.

The comparison only holds if both can do the work. For graphics they can, and ManyPixels is the lower price. For a product flow that needs UX design, a prototype and a front end, the ManyPixels figure buys the visual layer and the rest has to be bought somewhere else. Add that second supplier before you compare totals.

Questions

Asked before the call.

Does ManyPixels do UX design?

Its scope page, read on 12 October 2026, lists UX design and prototypes under "We don't do". It does list UI design, websites, landing pages and SaaS dashboards. Recast does both the UX and the UI.

Can ManyPixels build my site in Webflow or Framer?

Its scope page lists Webflow, Framer, WordPress and coding under "We don't do", so the designs would go to a separate developer. Recast's plan includes front-end build hours in Webflow, Framer, React or Next.js.

Why does ManyPixels cost so much less than Recast?

Because it sells a different service. Its plans, $699 to $2,599 a month on monthly billing, cover graphic design, UI design, illustration and video editing at one or two outputs a day. Recast's $3,900 covers UX design, five tasks in parallel, a maintained design system and the front-end build.

Does ManyPixels offer refunds?

Its terms of service say all subscription fees are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the billing period, or pause for $10 a month. Recast refunds the month in full within 14 days.

Does ManyPixels work at weekends?

Its pricing page says designers on the Assigned Designer and Design Team plans are assigned Monday to Friday and available from 9AM to 6PM. Recast's team works every day of the week.

I already have UI mock-ups from ManyPixels. Can Recast take them further?

Yes. Bring the files as they are. The usual next steps are the flows and states the mock-ups do not cover, components and tokens, spec frames for your developers, and the front-end build.

Who owns the files with ManyPixels and with Recast?

You do, with both. ManyPixels' terms assign the deliverables to the client once all amounts owed are paid. Recast transfers everything on delivery, whether you stay a month or a year.
