Jordan · The studio is in Amman
Designed in Amman, for products made here.
Recast is a product design studio in Amman, Jordan, led by Daniel Makhamreh, and Jordan is the one country where we can meet clients in person. The plan is $3,900 a month, about JOD 2,765, billed in US dollars, for unlimited tasks with five worked at once and first concepts in 48 hours, every day of the week. Products are designed in Arabic and English, with what a Jordanian product has to handle: CliQ and eFAWATEERcom payments, dinar prices to three decimals, and delivery without a national addressing system.

The interface
What is different about designing a product for Jordan?
A Jordanian product follows Levantine conventions, not Gulf ones, and most need English beside the Arabic. Arabic is the official language and English is widely understood and spoken among businesspeople, so a business product usually ships in both.
Four details separate a product made for Jordan from one adapted from the Gulf.
Month names
Unicode's locale data for Jordan uses the Levantine months: January is كانون الثاني (Kanun al-Thani), where Saudi Arabia and the UAE write يناير (Yanayir). A date picker borrowed from a Gulf product reads as foreign.
Three decimal places
The dinar is counted in fils, and the Central Bank quotes the dollar at 708 to 710 fils. Price fields, totals and receipts carry three decimals: JOD 2.750, not 2.75.
The week
The working week is Sunday to Thursday. Unicode's data starts the Jordanian calendar week on Saturday, so check the first column of every calendar.
Digits
The same data gives Jordanian Arabic the Arabic-Indic digits (١٢٣) by default. Decide whether the product follows that or uses Western digits, and apply one rule everywhere.
Payments and delivery
What does a Jordanian payment flow need?
It needs the local payment systems beside cards. They are run by JoPACC, a company owned by the Central Bank of Jordan and the country's banks, and people reach them from inside their banking apps. Recast designs the screens; your payment provider supplies the methods.
| What is compared | What it is | What the design has to do |
|---|---|---|
| CliQ | Instant transfers between bank accounts and mobile wallets, sent to an alias: a name, a mobile number or an email. Also request-to-pay and QR payments at merchants. | A pay-by-CliQ option showing the alias or QR code, then a waiting state until the transfer is confirmed. |
| eFAWATEERcom | The electronic bill payment service, owned by JoPACC and operated by MadfoatCom, reached from banking apps, wallets and its own app. | For bills and fees: say where and how to pay, and draw the state between paid and confirmed. |
| Mobile wallets | JoMoPay is the national switch for mobile wallet payments. | Treat a wallet as a method in its own right, not a footnote under cards. |
| Apple Pay | Available in Jordan. | The wallet button before the card form on supported devices. |
| Address | The US Commercial Service notes the lack of a countrywide addressing system. | A map pin, a landmark field and a phone number for the courier, not a postcode look-up. |

The work
What has Recast designed for Jordanian companies?
Booking, ordering, loyalty and e-commerce products for businesses in Amman. These are the published ones, and each has a case study on this site.
Most have two sides: the screen a customer uses and the tool the staff run it from, designed together.
Oasis Hospitality Group
One ordering and rewards app across a group of restaurants in Amman, with the vendor dashboard behind it.
Olivestone
An artisan bakery's ordering app, an in-store tablet where regulars earn points with their phone number, and a vendor dashboard.
Beyond Pilates
A class booking website where members buy credit packages, and a staff portal for classes, coaches, attendance and payments.
Sol Pet Resort
A pet hotel's booking app and shop for owners, and an employee portal with a live floor map of every room.
Lyla K.
An e-commerce store for a luxury jewellery house that sells in Amman and Dubai.
How it works
How does working with a studio in Amman work for a company in Jordan?
The same way it works for everyone, with one addition: we can meet. The studio is in Amman, so a meeting in person is possible for clients in Jordan, and Jordan is the only country where it is.
Day to day the work runs online. You file tasks in your Recast workspace, one lead designer is on every call, in Arabic or English, and the team works seven days a week, Friday and Saturday included, on your clock.
Recast bills in US dollars: by card or PayPal at checkout, or by invoice and bank transfer on request. The dinar has been fixed to the dollar since 1995, so $3,900 a month is about JOD 2,765 and the $490 pilot about JOD 347.
The honest answer
When is another agency in Jordan the better choice?
When you need something other than product design on a monthly plan. Recast sells one plan and a one-week pilot, and designs digital products: apps, web products, websites and their design systems.
Fixed-price tenders
A tender that asks for a fixed scope, a fixed price and a delivery date is a project agency's format. Recast sells a monthly plan, not project quotes.
Campaigns and content
Advertising, social media and print belong with a marketing agency.
A designer in your office
If you want someone at a desk beside your developers every day, hire. The plan is a team you reach through tasks and calls.
Dinar invoicing
Recast bills in US dollars. If your finance team can only pay an invoice in dinars, raise it on the pilot call before you start.
Questions
Asked before the call.
Can we meet Recast in person in Amman?
- Yes. The studio is in Amman, and Jordan is the only country where we meet clients in person. Book the free 20-minute pilot call first and ask for a meeting on it.
How much does the plan cost in Jordanian dinars?
- About JOD 2,765 a month. The plan is $3,900 a month and the dinar is fixed at about 0.709 to the dollar. The one-week pilot is $490, about JOD 347. Recast bills in US dollars.
Do you work on the Jordanian weekend?
- Yes. The team works every day of the week, so a task filed on Friday or Saturday is worked that day, and first concepts arrive in 48 real hours.
Which Jordanian companies has Recast worked with?
- The published case studies include Oasis Hospitality Group, Olivestone, Beyond Pilates and Sol Pet Resort, all in Amman, and Lyla K., which sells in Amman and Dubai.
Does Jordan have a data protection law that affects consent screens?
- Yes: the Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023, overseen by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. Among its rules, data may not be transferred or exchanged between the controller and another party without the data subject's consent. In the interface that means asking separately and plainly, in Arabic and English. This is design guidance, not legal advice.
Can you design a product for Jordan that also sells in the Gulf?
- Yes. Lyla K. sells in Amman and Dubai from one store. For the Gulf the locale settings change: riyal or dirham prices with two decimals in place of three, Gulf month names, mada or Aani beside cards, and a different working week in the UAE.
Who leads the studio?
- Daniel Makhamreh, lead designer, with more than 300 projects designed. On the plan, one lead designer is your single point of contact, on every call and accountable for every design choice.
